Seek immediate local emergency care for difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe swelling in your mouth or neck, a swollen or painful eye, or heavy bleeding that will not stop. In Turkey, call 112 for an ambulance. In the UK, call 999 for an ambulance or go to A&E. Do not wait for a reply from our team.

For other urgent dental problems, contact a local dental service. In England, you can also use NHS 111 online. Read the NHS emergency dental guidance and NHS dental abscess guidance. This website does not provide emergency clinical care.

Who is responsible for your aftercare?

The treating dental team provides treatment. Your dentist is responsible for clinical assessment, advice and follow-up. Best Smile Turkey coordinates enquiries and arrangements. Contacting our team does not replace a clinical review.

Get the treating team’s contact details and follow-up plan before booking. We do not list a UK aftercare partner. If UK care is offered, get the practice name, what care it provides, how to book and who pays in writing.

AFTER TREATMENT

Five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000.

Best Smile Turkey provides a five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000.

For treatments over £2,000, if a problem arises during the five-year guarantee period, corrective treatment is provided free of charge. Flights and hotel accommodation for the guarantee-related return visit are also covered.

This flight and hotel cover applies to a return visit for corrective treatment under the guarantee. Check your original treatment quote separately for its travel and accommodation inclusions.

Keep the guarantee with your written treatment plan. Ask the team to record your guarantee dates, clinical contact and how corrective treatment and return travel will be arranged.

A treatment guarantee does not promise a particular clinical result or a complication-free recovery.

Organise agreed reviews and record locations in the existing maintenance planner. Leave unagreed dates and responsibilities unconfirmed.

THINK BEYOND THE VISIT Arrange your follow-up before you leave.

Ask your dentist which cleaning tools suit your treatment, who will provide reviews and how to get help after returning home.

Agree how follow-up will work.

Routine reviews, new concerns and corrective treatment need clear arrangements. Keep the confirmed guarantee cover in your plan, and agree any routine review or UK care charges separately. Get a clinical contact and out-of-hours instructions. A remote conversation is not the same as an examination.

A smartphone displays a closed dental teaching model beside the same type of model opened to show its inner surfaces.
Illustrated explanation: A remote conversation and an examination differ. A front-view image can support a remote conversation, while direct examination provides additional information. Illustration for general information; not a patient result.

For implants, the follow-up plan also needs to cover the interval before the final teeth are fitted. Read the implant treatment timeline and keep each stage in your written plan.

For bonding, use the bonding repair and follow-up questions to discuss repolishing, repairs and reviews. For permanent crowns, read about planning crown maintenance and reviews, including cleaning, bite or grinding concerns and future costs. Agree instructions for your own restoration with your dentist; general reading does not replace clinical advice.

YOUR DEPARTURE CHECKLIST

Before you leave Antalya

Ask for a written handover you can keep and share with a dentist if needed. Check who to contact about any missing records.

Treatment summary and material passport
  • Request copies of the treatment summary, relevant images and details of the teeth treated
  • For implants or restorations, request the implant system and component details, materials used and whether the teeth fitted are temporary or final
  • Ask for a material passport or equivalent written record: manufacturer, product or system, tooth positions and any recorded component or batch references

Confirm which records the clinic provides. A material record identifies what was used; it is not a guarantee of the result.

Care instructions and clinical contacts
  • Collect written care instructions, including cleaning and maintenance, tailored to your treatment and the agreed review schedule
  • Save the treating clinic’s clinical contact details, out-of-hours arrangements and complaints contact
  • Confirm any remaining treatment, who reviews your progress and how the next appointment will be agreed
Costs, receipts and agreed terms
  • Keep your final quotation, payment receipts and any warranty or support terms together
  • Record what has been completed, any balance remaining and the agreed costs for later visits
  • Keep the original and revised plans if treatment or materials changed

Ask the treating clinic how records can be shared securely with another dentist if needed. An initial website or WhatsApp enquiry does not require you to send your medical history or scans.

What can you arrange in the UK?

Follow your dentist’s instructions and attend reviews. Confirm UK care directly with the local dentist, including records and charges. An overseas quote does not mean another practice has agreed to take over.

Use the UK aftercare planning guide to prepare questions about local reviews, cleaning, repairs and the records each practice needs.

If something concerns you, contact the treating clinical team and explain what has happened. Do not wait for a remote reply if you need urgent local care.

How do I raise a concern about my care?

Keep a dated account of the concern and the treatment involved. Ask the responsible provider for its complaints procedure, a named contact and a response timetable. Use our guide to raising a concern after treatment abroad to organise your questions and records.

Who pays for further care or a return trip?

For treatments over £2,000, if a problem arises during the five-year guarantee period, corrective treatment is provided free of charge. Flights and hotel accommodation for the guarantee-related return visit are also covered.

Confirm any UK care and transfer costs in writing. Ask whether the covered return flights and hotel are booked for you or reimbursed. Do not delay urgent local care while arranging a return visit.

Use the dental quote comparison checklist to record these costs before you pay a deposit. Keep written answers with your treatment plan so everyone is working from the same agreement.

WRITTEN ANSWERS FIRST

Confirm before booking.

Five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000. Corrective treatment and the related return flights and hotel are covered. Cancellation and refund terms still need to be confirmed for your booking.

Before paying a deposit or making non-refundable travel arrangements, verify who will treat you and who you are paying. If the provider’s identity or important terms cannot be confirmed, pause your booking.

The treating provider and payment recipient
  • What are the clinic’s name and full address, and who will carry out each stage of treatment?
  • What are the dentists’ qualifications and registration details, and how can I verify them?
  • What is the legal name of each organisation I am contracting with? Who issues the invoice and receives each payment?
  • Which language will my treating dentist use? If interpretation is needed, who provides it, what does it cost, and will it cover consent discussions, changes to the plan and aftercare?

Read the provider-verification checklist

Prepare language support for your treatment discussion

Payments, inclusions and extra fees
  • Who invoices me and receives payment? What are the currency, quote expiry date, deposit and balance dates?
  • Which treatment stages, reviews, hotel nights and transfers are included on each visit?
  • Which procedures, UK assessments or planned treatment-stage trips are priced separately? Keep the confirmed guarantee-related corrective treatment, flights and hotel cover distinct from the original treatment package.
Cancellation and refunds
  • What happens to my deposit if I cancel, am unsuitable for treatment or decide not to accept a revised plan?
  • What changes if treatment has already started? Which fees or completed work would be deducted?
  • How do I request any refund, who handles it and what timescale applies? What are the separate travel and hotel terms?
Your five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000
  • Include the five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000, free corrective treatment and the related return flights and hotel accommodation in your written plan.
  • Record the guarantee dates and who to contact if a problem arises. Ask how a clinical assessment and any corrective treatment will be arranged.
  • Ask how the covered flights and hotel will be arranged. Confirm any UK care or transfers separately, and ask whether travel is booked for you or reimbursed.
If the treatment plan changes

Ask for a revised, dated plan before deciding. Keep it with the original quote.

  • What has changed, which teeth or materials are affected, and why? What are my alternatives?
  • What is the revised total, payment schedule and number of visits? What changes for temporary teeth, flights or extra nights?
  • What happens if I pause or decline the revised plan? Which cancellation or refund terms apply?

UK Dentist Compatibility & Global Implant Component Availability

Osstem starts from £399 and Megagen AnyRidge from £450 per implant, including the fixture, abutment and final crown.

Osstem and MegaGen have UK product and support channels. Your UK implant dentist needs the exact system, platform and compatible components before accepting follow-up care. Component and driver compatibility must be checked for the specific system; availability does not mean every dentist can provide treatment.

Your implant traceability passport

Ask your treating clinic for a written implant traceability passport recording the manufacturer, model, fixture diameter and length in mm, platform connection, product reference and batch or lot number, with barcode labels and relevant surgical records, including insertion torque in Ncm where recorded. Request the applicable product conformity documentation rather than assuming every device has the same CE or FDA status.

Keep these records for future care in the UK. Osstem UK system and platform information · MegaGen UK AnyRidge system information.
