A KEY QUESTION
Confirm the care a UK practice has actually agreed to provide before relying on it in your travel plan.
Speak to your dentist before booking
The GDC recommends discussing overseas treatment with your own dentist. Take the proposed plan: a crown, an implant bridge and unfinished treatment may need different follow-up. Your practice may need to examine you before deciding what care it can offer.
Separate reviews, cleaning and repairs
Record who will handle routine reviews, professional cleaning and unexpected problems. A practice might examine a concern without undertaking a particular implant repair. Find out whether it needs component details or further records, and how any necessary referral would be arranged.

Check what UK support means
A UK phone number, information office or promotional meeting does not itself confirm UK aftercare. Ask whether the service is booking support, a remote review or in-person clinical care, and who provides it.
Before receiving dental assessment, treatment or advice in the UK, check the named professional on the GDC register. Confirm appointment details, charges and limits directly with the practice, separately from any overseas guarantee.
Get a clinical handover
Let the receiving dentist identify useful records, then request them from the treating team. These may include a treatment summary, relevant images and implant details. Keep your own copy. Best Smile Turkey coordinates enquiries; the treating dental team provides clinical treatment and the clinical handover.
Read the aftercare terms
Clarify charges, exclusions and who authorises additional work. A warranty does not establish NHS eligibility, insurance cover or a UK practice’s availability. If a provider names a UK partner, contact that practice directly. Get written answers about repair costs and any return travel.
Read the Best Smile Turkey UK follow-up guidance alongside the written arrangements confirmed by your treating team and local practice.
Keep an urgent-care route
In England, contact a dentist or NHS 111 for urgent dental advice about persistent pain, swelling or broken dental work. Call 999 for serious facial injury, uncontrolled heavy mouth bleeding or severe swelling affecting breathing. Elsewhere in the UK, use local urgent-care services. Do not wait for a return trip or reimbursement decision.
Update the plan before leaving
If treatment changed, tell the receiving practice and make sure the arranged appointment still fits. Keep a dated record of the care each provider agreed to undertake.
