A KEY QUESTION
Collect a dated treatment summary, component details, care instructions and review plan.
At a glance.
| Record | Details | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Implant | System, size, product reference and available lot details | Identify the component |
| Location | Tooth position and date | Link parts to sites |
| Restoration | Connector, material and retention method | Identify attached parts |
| Handover | Summary, imaging and care plan | Support future assessment |
General differences to discuss with your dentist. This comparison does not determine which treatment is suitable for you.
Ask why this system
Ask why your dentist recommends a particular implant system, what experience they have with it and how repairs or replacement parts would be handled. Suitability depends on your mouth and the planned restoration. A “premium” label or country of origin cannot tell you which implant is right for you.
Identify each part
The implant, abutment connector and visible restoration are separate components. Check whether the quote names each and whether parts come from the implant manufacturer or another supplier. Ask about compatibility and warranty implications. Do not identify or order replacement parts yourself from a photo.
Compare the named parts with what a complete implant quote includes. Request the actual system, connector, crown and fitting scope in writing rather than comparing brand names alone.

Ask about an implant passport
A passport or equivalent record can link product labels, dates and tooth positions. Straumann’s published example shows this format; it is not a brand recommendation. Ask which details the clinic supplies. Documentation formats and duties vary, so this list is a practical request rather than a universal legal requirement.
Check your records
Request a dated summary naming the clinician, treated sites, procedures and restoration, plus relevant imaging and reports. Check that files open, positions are clear and the summary reflects changes to the plan. Keep a secure backup.
- Implant and restoration details by tooth position
- Care instructions and review dates
- Named clinical contact
- Written warranty terms, including the provider, cover and exclusions

Arrange care at home
Discuss the overseas plan with your usual dentist. Ask a prospective maintenance provider what records they need. Records do not guarantee a UK practice can maintain every system or that care is free. Confirm routine reviews, urgent help, repairs and charges before travelling.
Resolve missing details
Best Smile Turkey coordinates enquiries; the treating dental team provides treatment. Request missing clinical records from the provider using the treatment date and site. Check who provides any warranty and whether it covers parts, clinical work, travel or accommodation.
Ask about implant records on WhatsAppAsk what is being proposed.

Common questions
UK Dentist Compatibility & Global Implant Component Availability
Osstem starts from £399 and Megagen AnyRidge from £450 per implant, including the fixture, abutment and final crown.
Osstem and MegaGen have UK product and support channels. Your UK implant dentist needs the exact system, platform and compatible components before accepting follow-up care. Component and driver compatibility must be checked for the specific system; availability does not mean every dentist can provide treatment.
Your implant traceability passport
Ask your treating clinic for a written implant traceability passport recording the manufacturer, model, fixture diameter and length in mm, platform connection, product reference and batch or lot number, with barcode labels and relevant surgical records, including insertion torque in Ncm where recorded. Request the applicable product conformity documentation rather than assuming every device has the same CE or FDA status.
Keep these records for future care in the UK. Osstem UK system and platform information · MegaGen UK AnyRidge system information.
Five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000. Corrective treatment and the related return flights and hotel are covered. Read the full terms. Agree clinical contacts and return-travel arrangements in your written plan.
