UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS
How are crowns and bridges different?
A crown covers a tooth that has been prepared to receive it. A bridge replaces a missing tooth or teeth with a fixed restoration. Your dentist should explain which teeth would be treated and why.
Which units are you comparing?
- Natural-tooth crown: identify the tooth and proposed material.
- Bridge: ask for the supporting and replacement units, then the total for the whole bridge.
- Implant-supported crown: itemise the implant fixture, abutment (connector) and final crown. Check whether a crown-only price includes the other parts.
Starting prices in GBP
- Zirconia crown Monolithic zirconia. A bridge may involve more than one unit.
- From £160 Per crown unit
- IPS e.max ceramic crown IPS e.max lithium disilicate. Confirm temporary work and fitting.
- From £260 Per crown unit
- Metal-ceramic crown Porcelain fused to metal. Confirm the number of units and fitting.
- From £120 Per crown unit
A crown-unit price is not the total for a bridge or a complete implant-supported tooth. Confirm all units and components in your quote.
These starting fees are indicative and non-binding. Confirm availability, suitability, appointments, additional procedures and travel in your written quote. See the dated price list and full scope.
A crown and a bridge do different jobs.
Identify whether the plan restores a retained tooth or replaces a missing one.

A cap over a prepared tooth
- Crown:
- Fits around the prepared visible part of the tooth.
- Retained tooth:
- The natural tooth remains underneath this model crown.
Ask your dentist: Why does this tooth need a crown rather than a smaller restoration?

Three units, two supporting teeth
- End units:
- The outer crowns fit over the supporting teeth in this model.
- Middle unit:
- The false tooth spans the space between them.
Ask your dentist: Which teeth support my proposed bridge, and what preparation is needed?
About this illustration
A three-unit bridge can include two supporting crowns and one replacement tooth.
Dental crowns in Turkey: compare materials and costs
The price list distinguishes monolithic zirconia from IPS e.max lithium disilicate. The E.max product family also includes zirconia, so ask for the full product and material name rather than comparing brand labels alone.
If a proposal includes 20 or 24 zirconia crowns, ask why each tooth needs a crown, how much preparation is proposed and how shape, shade and bite will be checked. A “full set” label does not establish the number of teeth that need treatment. Compare materials using the same crown or bridge unit count.
Explore zirconia and E.max crown materials.
Material terminology: Ivoclar. Checked . This is not a clinical review or a product recommendation.

Is a bridge price the same as a crown price?
No. A bridge can involve several units and supporting teeth, so a single-crown starting price is not a complete bridge quote. Request the proposed units, temporary work, fitting and any additional treatment in writing before comparing totals or paying a deposit. Match teeth, bridge units and treatment scope.
What must happen before final crown fitting?
The appointment plan depends on the work proposed and any temporary restorations. Confirm the timetable with your dentist and leave time to discuss shape, colour and bite before permanent fitting. Ask how an adjustment or extra appointment could affect your travel. Prepare for final fitting and checks.
Who handles a crown or bridge concern at home?
Ask your treating dentist for a clinical contact and follow-up plan. Five-year guarantee on treatments over £2,000. Corrective treatment and the related return flights and hotel are covered. Confirm where an assessment or repair would take place, how it is arranged, and any separate routine-review or UK care charges. Confirm reviews, repairs and clinical contacts.

Start with suitability.
Ask your dentist why a crown is being considered, what alternatives could preserve your tooth and what preparation would involve.
Understand crowns and veneersAsk why a crown is proposed, how the tooth would be prepared and which alternatives are suitable.
MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE
What to consider before treatment.
Ask your dentist how each option would affect your teeth and what alternatives are available.
- Discussing a damaged or weakened tooth
- Exploring a fixed replacement for a gap
- Understanding when a crown is preferable to a veneer
For questions to discuss with your dentist, compare crowns and veneers, including tooth preparation. If tooth position is part of your concern, read about orthodontics, veneers and crowns for questions about alternatives.
If two dentists suggest different options, use the treatment-plan comparison worksheet to record each recommendation, the dentist’s reasons and the questions you still need answered.
Ask how the fit will be checked.
Your dentist can explain the proposed material, preparation and checks for your own restoration.

Choose coverage for the tooth, not a label.
The amount and condition of the remaining tooth help guide the discussion.

Look at the remaining walls
- Existing filling:
- Shown within an enlarged sectioned tooth.
- Natural structure:
- The surrounding tooth needs assessment before deciding on coverage.
Ask your dentist: Which parts need protection, and what can be preserved?
About this illustration
Illustrated explanation: Assess why the tooth needs coverage.
The remaining tooth structure is part of deciding what restoration is appropriate. Illustration for general information; not a patient result.

Not every restoration is a full crown
- Inlay:
- Fits within the tooth in this teaching model.
- Onlay:
- Extends over a biting cusp.
Ask your dentist: Would an inlay or onlay be suitable instead of full coverage?
About this illustration
The inlay sits within the tooth, while the onlay extends over a cusp.

Ask how the recorded tooth shape becomes a restoration and what happens between visits.

Check the crown against the model
- Recorded shape:
- The laboratory cast represents the prepared tooth.
- Clinical fitting:
- The final fit and bite still need checking in your mouth.
Ask your dentist: What will be checked before the crown is attached?

Care between appointments
- Temporary sample:
- A temporary crown has its own care instructions.
- Final sample:
- Material and design must be confirmed, not guessed from appearance.
Ask your dentist: Who should I contact if the temporary crown loosens?

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Questions about crowns and bridges.
Keep the tooth and the restoration in view.
Good care includes daily access and reporting changes that need assessment.

Clean around the restored tooth
- Tooth spaces:
- Ask which brush or floss fits your own spaces.
- Restoration edges:
- Cleaning remains important where the crown meets the tooth.
Ask your dentist: Can you demonstrate cleaning around my crown or bridge?
About this illustration
Floss and interdental brushes suit different spaces. The tools stay outside the model because size and fit need to be checked without forcing them.

Report a tooth that touches first
- Contact point:
- The model illustrates one tooth contacting ahead of others.
- Assessment:
- A bite sensation or sensitivity needs a clinical check, not self-adjustment.
Ask your dentist: Who should I contact if the bite feels uneven after fitting?
About this illustration
