A KEY QUESTION
Get the affected part and immediate care plan identified before deciding on a long-term replacement.
What has failed?
A moving crown does not by itself show whether the implant underneath has failed. Components can loosen or wear. Have the dentist identify the affected structure and findings. Do not tighten, glue or test the assembly yourself; record symptoms and the last treatment date.

Timing and possible causes
An implant may fail to join with bone after placement, or a problem may arise later. Timing informs the investigation but cannot establish the cause or responsibility. Take the same clinical history and records if seeking another opinion.
If removal is proposed
An implant that has not bonded with the jawbone may need removal. Replacement may sometimes be possible after further assessment, but immediate replacement is not guaranteed. Discuss why removal is recommended, how the site will be reviewed and the temporary appearance and function.
Reconsidering replacement
Another implant needs a fresh suitability assessment. Other options may include a bridge, removable teeth or accepting the space where appropriate. Compare further surgery, neighbouring teeth, cleaning, reviews and cost. The immediate problem may need care before the final replacement decision.
Revised costs and terms
Get assessment, removal, temporary teeth, preparation and replacement itemised. Check whether written cover includes travel, accommodation or work by another dentist. A complication alone does not establish refund rights or require you to accept more treatment. Keep correspondence and applicable terms.
Care where you are
Do not postpone necessary assessment while arranging a return trip abroad. Request direct clinical advice and a summary for the dentist seeing you locally. Keep the diagnosis, imaging, implant identification and next step together, with a named clinician responsible for review.
