A KEY QUESTION
Get specific answers about your needs from each provider rather than relying on a general accessibility label.
Describe what helps you
List the arrangements that make appointments workable: space for a mobility aid, quieter surroundings, breaks or written explanations, for example. A diagnosis alone may not tell staff what to arrange. Decide which needs are essential and share those with the people responsible.
Follow the route into the surgery
Ask about steps, ramps, door widths, lifts and changes of level along your route to the treatment room and toilet. Request measurements or recent photographs. Agree what would happen if the lift failed or the room changed.

Discuss transfers and positioning
Tell the clinical team if getting into the chair, reclining or standing requires help. Establish who assesses and assists transfers, what equipment is available and whether staff can meet your needs safely. Do not assume a companion will lift you. Discuss comfort and breaks too.
Arrange communication support
Request a format you can use, such as accessible electronic text or large print. Discuss hearing, vision, interpretation or communication-aid needs, including a pause signal during treatment. NHS England’s Accessible Information Standard offers useful principles; it does not establish legal requirements for a private Turkish clinic.
Check transport and accommodation
Confirm equipment and assistance with each provider. Airport assistance does not arrange your hotel transfer. Check the actual vehicle, bedroom, bathroom and entrance route. Discuss any support needed after treatment with the clinician. The FCDO recommends written confirmation and rechecking arrangements before departure.
Keep an access plan
Save confirmed answers together, with your preferred contact method. Recheck if a room, vehicle or appointment changes. Best Smile Turkey can coordinate enquiries; the provider delivering each adjustment needs to confirm it.
